So I’m teaching a lesson on color to my high school Art I class. They have to paint a 3”x3” square of each of the 12 colors on the color wheel, and a 1”x3” section of each neutral made by complements. They can only use the sections that they paint to make a poster about color. They have to include a spectrum, (or color wheel) Complementary Colors, Warm Colors, Cool Colors, Neutrals, Primary Colors, Secondary Colors, Tertiary Colors, and Analogous Colors. This is my example piece for the project. I’m asking that they choose something that they like as a “theme” for their poster. Mine is Doctor Who. I’ve already had some students see me working on this and start freaking out about my being a Whovian. I can’t wait to see what they do! I’m introducing the project tomorrow.
